A bite of Illinois, with two big scoops of Rosemont with a pinch of Chicago.
"Taste of Illinois" is a personal travel story that was documented over the course of several days in Rosemont, a small and often overlooked suburb of Chicago. This project looks at what it's like to find yourself somewhere new, strange, and surprisingly charming through the lens of discovery. Through hotel hallways, airport tunnels, old signs, crowds in convention centers, diners, and quiet alleyways, the pictures show moments of warmth, discovery, and Americana. The series has a nostalgic, grainy look to respect the fact that it was first meant to be on film. The photos were made to mimic a postcard and capture a taste of the local flavor.
